The girls struct up a friendship instantly and have had wonderful adventures together. I’m sure they are sad to be leaving and it’ll be sad to sad goodbye to the girls because they are such lovely students.

Vanessa’s Visit to Australia Zoo
July 27, 2010 · Leave a Comment
On last Saturday I went to Australian Zoo, home of the Crocodile Hunter. Another student from Global Village accompanied me. We met near Global Village in Maroochydore. First we drove by bus to Australian Zoo. It took nearly 40 minutes to reach our destination. We fed some elephants and watched the “Wildlife Warriors Show”. It was very exciting. We saw a lot of diffrent birds, snakes and crocodiles. After this show we had lunch in a food court and we relaxed for a few of minutes. It was a very beautiful day. The sun shone the whole day long. After our lunch we started to see other animals. There was a place, where we could touch koalas. The coat from them was really soft. I liked this feeling ^^ . We saw some other animals like dingos, tigers, emus, echidnas, tortoises (really big turtles) and many many more. But the most exciting thing was taking some photos with kangoroos. We could then feed and touch too. We drive back to Maroochydore by the same bus. It was a nice trip. I enjoyed it very much and I would go again anytime.

Yesterday’s surfing session proved that Jose was the only brave one. Although the other students decided the water was to chilly for them the beach was still a nice place to spend the afternoon. With lots of promises of trying again when the water is a little warmer the next Surfing Session is going to be a big one!

Angelique’s Byron Bay Getaway
July 7, 2010 · Leave a Comment
BYRON BAY
For my last weekend in Australia, I took a bus to Byron Bay on Friday. Thank you Maddy^^. I arrived there at 5p.m. The trip on the bus was so long and boring but when I saw Byron, I was absolutely exhausted. I slept at the backpacher’s « Aqurius »( friendly backpacker’s). I drank a few drinks with the people that I met over there and then I went to bed because on Saturday, a big day was waiting for me. On Saturday morning, I woke up early and started shopping because I’m going back to Switzerland next Saturday and I have no souvenirs. In the afternoon, I walked to the Lighthouse with an Irish girl, I practised my english a lot this weekend. When we climbed the hill, the view was amazing and guess what… ! We were lucky to see whales. I was so delighted-It was just gorgeous. After that we went to an exhibition near the beach. It was really interesting. At the end of the afternoon, we walked on the beach and appreciated the sun set. At the backpacker’s, we ate with guys from Switzerland too. And we had a party together. Then on Sunday, it was already time to go back to Caloundra. But, I will never forget this last fantastic weekend.

Friday afternoons class activity was speed dating. First students talked about themselves…conversation was a little slow. Then students got to make up an alter-ego, the noise level increased so much that Maddy and Patty could here the conversations from their offices! Did students find love? I guess you will have to ask them!
