Soccer Rivalry Heats Up
August 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Last night students from GV Caloundra exchanged their grammar books with soccer boots to play the Caloundra Soccer team. It was an exciting match with a great display of football athleticism. The end result was a 2-2 draw. A re-match should be organised to allow our boys to claim the victory they deserve. Well done!

Susie’s surprise visit.
August 20, 2009 · 1 Comment
Susie surprised staff and students by returning to GV for a short visit. She had been in Cairns for the last five months working on a Banana Plantation. I don’t think Susie is eager to repeat that particular experience again because she said that it was hard work, but it has allowed her to extend her stay in Australia for another year. Susie went to Cairns with another former student Linsay who is currently still there. They have had so many wonderful experiences since arriving in Australia, scuba diving, rafting and water skiing. In Susie’s case she has even met a new man, Ian, who has accompanied her to Caloundra to visit us.

Tereza takes a class.
August 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment
While Tereza was studying with us last month she was given the opportunity to teach a class in Australia.
Tereza is an English teacher in the Czech Republic so most of her students were also Czech. At GV, she had a chance to teach students from many different countries. Students volunteered to take her class after normal classes finished. It was a rewarding experience not only for Tereza but for the students also.

Caloundra Music Festival
August 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Tickets are on sale now for the Caloundra Music Festival. Don’t miss out!!
Held from October 22-25, the Caloundra Music Festival features some of Australia’s top acts. You don’t have to go far to see it, either – it’s at King’s Beach.
Tickets are sale online now ( http://www.caloundramusicfestival.com/ ) and represent great value for a day of really outstanding music. My picks are classic Australian performers James Reyne and the Hoodoo Gurus, but there is music there to suit everyone.
Grab your tickets…this one is well worth it!
